Liebster Blog

So, my very favorite Collie blog Two Collies and a Mutt nominated Eating The Elephant for the Liebster award, in spite of my flagrant blog-slacking of late! I think that that's incredibly sweet of them and would love to spread the Liebstering.

Here's how it works.

Liebster means “dearest” in German, and the award is intended to help up-and-coming blogs get the attention they deserve. As with any award, there is a bit of ceremony involved. In order to accept the award, we must do the following:

  • Copy and paste the award on our blog.
  • Link back to the blogger who gave us the award.
  • Pick our five favorite blogs with less than 200 followers, and leave a comment on their blog to let them know they have received the award.
  • Hope that the five blogs chosen will keep spreading the love and pass it on to five more blogs.
With the first two done, here are my five favorites.

1. Two Collies and a Mutt - we love to read about the adventures of Petal, Lassie, and Ella. And when I say we, I mean we - every time I open the page, Violet comes sidling over to check out the pictures.
2. Collieful Living - a somewhat infrequent poster, but they share some lovely Collie pictures and stories are are fun to read. :]
3. Going For 'Good Dog!' - another houseful of herding dogs, which is obviously my favorite thing to read about. Going For 'Good Dog!' is a great training, dog-loving blog with a very adorable new pup to watch grow.
4. Reactive Champion - a social worker by day, dog trainer by night? As a social work student with a love of dog training and a reactive GSD, this is right up my alley. It's a very thoughtful, well written blog.
5. Sims 2 Stories by Lorelei - this one deviates from the dog blog theme, but if you like The Sims, Lorelei writes some fantastic stories. I only wish I had the patience to write like that.

  1. Congratulations on your award and up coming wedding. Nice to meet you and I look forward to reading your blog.

  2. Thanks, Bassetmama! :) Fred and Gloria look like fun dogs, I look forward to reading yours as well.

  3. I will definitely participate, Brianne--but must point out that my Sims 2 blog is definitely NOT a legacy--I adhere to none of the very strict rules. If a legacy lover read it and thought I was claiming it was one, I'd be shot at dawn lol They are ferocious about what legacies are and are not. Just put that it's a NON-Legacy Sims 2 blog and THANK YOU so much for the lovely compliment!

  4. I nominated your blog for the Liebster Award. :) Details are in my most recent post!

  5. Thanks so much, Brianne! Very cool that you're a social work student... it seems there are many social workers/dog trainers. What kind of social work are you hoping to do?

  6. Noted, Lorelei! To save you from being lynched by Legacy fanatics I have changed it. It probably reflects on the fact that I play fast and loose with the "legacy" concept. Eric in his day did proper legacies and still occasionally complains "You're doing it wrong, you can't use aspiration reward objects! That's cheating!" and I continue to remind him that I am NOT doing a real legacy, just a Sim neighborhood with several families that continue over the generation. So I feel you! My mind just likes to incorrectly file any multi-generational story under "legacy." :)

  7. Child welfare, Crystal, at IUPUI in Indianapolis. My fiance (the dog trainer and primary owner of our reactive GSD, Piper, who got me interested in training in the first place) is going into the same field (almost done with bachelor's in psychology, then pursuing an MSW) and his mother has an MSW. I'm surrounded, haha.

  8. Awesome. I work with kids too, but a slightly different context (county case management for kids with disabilities).

  9. That sounds like a very interesting job. I hope to end up in the Department of Child Services.

  10. Tough work. I did an internship in child protection in college. I admire people who can do it longer than a few months.

  11. For some reason Blogger keeps dropping you from my list of blogs I read as soon as I add it. You should be automatically included just because I'm following your blog so I don't know what their problem is--I've asked about it on forum so I'll see what they say. Meanwhile I'll try to find some other way to get it on the home page...

  12. Thank you! :D What a boost to my blog confidence.
